On Friday, August 30th, at approximately 4:35 PM, the Wallkill Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in front of 2274 Route 300 near Orchard Dr. Upon arriving, Chief of Department Malatesta found a motorcycle down with one male severely injured. Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps assisted by the Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Services treated the patient at the scene and requested a helicopter to transport the patient to a trauma center. The landing site was established at the Wallkill Fire Department Headquarters on Bona Ventura Ave. and the patient was transported there by Town of Newburgh EMS. As the fire department stood by a LifeNet helicopter landed in the parking lot and the patient was loaded on the helicopter and transported to Westchester Medical Center. |
